Despite the [damaging] impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on enterprises all over the world, GlowCorp was still able to thrive by fostering and maintaining its relationships with its suppliers. As a result, two of GlowCorp’s long-term suppliers, Trunk to Gold (T2G) and Joyful Garden Farm Organic Farmers Association, became their latest shareholders in the year 2021.
T2G is based in Jasaan, Misamis Oriental, and supplies adlai and coco sugar to GlowCorp, while Joyful Garden Farm Organic Farmers Association is an organic rice supplier based in Nueva Ecija.
In 2021, T2G was able to supply 11.05 metric tons amounting to Php1.9M or about 34 percent of GlowCorp’s total coco sugar purchases. Joyful Garden Farm Organic Farmers Association, on the other hand, supplied 13.6 metric tons of organic rice amounting to Php816,000 or about 4 percent of GlowCorp’s total organic rice purchases.
GlowCorp buys and sells the products of its suppliers to different parts of the country, and with their supplier-buyer relationship, they are able to give these farmers’ organizations the potential to expand their businesses to further help farmers who are dependent on the organization.
Besides being a buyer, GlowCorp also facilitates training such as helping these organizations in terms of product design, packaging, and presentation. GlowCorp also offers help to guide its suppliers to apply for licenses like those required by the Food and Drug Administration.
As a shareholder of GlowCorp, both T2G and Joyful Garden have the right to attend the annual stockholders meeting where the performance of GlowCorp throughout the year is being reported, and the right to receive dividends.
