The Global Organic and Wellness Corporation (GlowCorp) was established to serve as the marketing arm of organic rice and muscovado farmers. Over time, it carried other products such as coco sugar, nuts, preserves, and other natural products.
GlowCorp facilitates market development to:

Provide steady and stable market for organic rice and muscovado producers;

Increase market for organic rice, muscovado sugar and other organically- and naturally-grown products;

Improve marketing arrangements through transparent negotiations, and practice of fair-trading principles;

Facilitate equitable sharing of benefits and profits across value chain stakeholders. It currently assists 6,500 farming households across the country in finding better markets for their produce.
As a marketing arm, GlowCorp’s primary role is to act as go-between shareholders-suppliers and the target markets. GlowCorp is unique since it is owned and governed by the farmers themselves, thus making them directly connected to the markets. This setup provides farmers an opportunity to negotiate for better price and at the same time, gain from the profits generated from GlowCorp’s marketing operations. GlowCorp also provides technical support to its shareholders, suppliers and other social enterprises, including-market matching, quality control, product development, installation of internal control systems on organic production and certification, packaging and labeling.
GlowCorp’s vision is to become the leading market distributor of globally-competitive organic, natural, and healthy products produced by marginalized groups and community-based social enterprises. This is to promote the economic empowerment of the rural poor and improve their quality of life. Its mission is to develop new, non-traditional markets as well as increase market share of organic and natural products leading to the creation of more jobs and increase income among community-based enterprises and farming households.
Why Support Glow Corp?
High product quality. GlowCorp’s products are produced in an organic and natural way. This means that production, processing and marketing protocols are strictly followed by the producers and consolidators. Muscovado and organic rice are proven to be of high nutritive content because the natural processes used preserved the minerals and vitamins present in the raw materials.
Upscaled production and stability. GlowCorp has indirect relationship with its producers, which are also the owners of the company. These organizations have the ability to expand its production area given appropriate support. Because of this, GlowCorp can consolidate large volumes of organic rice and muscovado with the combined capacity of the producers.
Competitive pricing. GlowCorp’s edge is derived from competitive pricing schemes as trading in large volumes to allow lower transaction costs. Direct relationship with the farmer-producers is an advantage given a shortened value chain.
Premium branding. Processes on product testing are secured to ensure packaging standards required are complied. Quality packaging and branding are also ensured.
Organic and Halal certification. As most of the labeled “organic” products in the market lack third-party certification, acquiring organic certification from a known certifying body assures consumers of the products’ integrity. This third-party certification checks processes from production to marketing whether the national organic standards are complied by the producers and marketers. A registered trademark from certified organic seal from a government-accredited certifying body like the Organic Certification Center of the Philippines (OCCP) is attached or labeled in the package. GlowCorp’s top suppliers Pecuaria and Don Bosco are OCCP certified. GlowCorp on the other hand, has halal certification.
